In March 2025, a new option was introduced in selected countries, allowing users to verify both their identity and payment address online. As a result, the verification process has become even faster and more user-friendly for publishers. This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to verify your AdSense account using the PERSONA system.
To continue displaying ads and receiving payments from Google AdSense, it is necessary to confirm the accuracy of your account information by verifying your identity. The new online verification method, provided through the partner company PERSONA, allows you to:
- Quickly verify your identity by scanning a government-issued ID.
- Confirm your payment address (available from March 2025 in selected countries).
- Complete the entire process, which typically takes around 10 minutes.
Verification must be completed within 45 days of receiving the request; otherwise, ad serving on your sites will be suspended.
How to Verify Your Identity in AdSense Using PERSONA
- Sign in to your AdSense account.
- Before starting the verification process: ensure that the name in your payment profile matches the one on your identity document. If the information differs, make the necessary changes to your profile.
- In AdSense, click on “Payments” and then “Verification”;
or, in AdMob, click on “Payments”. - Follow the instructions on the “Payments” page.
- Select the PERSONA verification option, which allows you to upload a photo of your ID and complete facial recognition.
Completing the Verification
After submitting your documents and completing the facial recognition process, wait for confirmation of verification.
In most cases, the entire procedure takes no more than 10 minutes.
If there are any issues (e.g., a blurry image of the document), you will receive a notification requesting that you re-upload the photos.
Your Document’s Issuing Country Differs from the Country in Your AdSense Profile
The PERSONA system can only verify identity documents that match the country listed in your payment profile.
